A born-in JW twit I knew was the son of a former CO in Canada. The amount of respect and recognition he would receive on account of this from the 'brothers' ™ was beyond explaining. People would grovel and treat him like royalty, disregarding actions that myself as a worldly person wouldn't even want to do or attempt. Can you say double life ? I could write a short story filled with juicy details of my encounter with this guy over the 4-6 year period I knew him.

Witness Royalty and the last day at the "Towers"
by Lynnie inmy uber elder cousin and his wife got the "privilege" of having one last "toast" of wine at the rooftop garden at the towers in nyc since the jw's are vacating to warwick.
his oldest daughter and son in law are quite high up in the inner circle so they get invited to all the "inner circle" activities.
even though they aren't supposed to toast to anything it was pretty darn close.

Today's W.T when it mentioned Depression and Anxiety
by Isambard Crater inour co-ordinator put his hand up and commented saying that people who go on about how depressed or anxious they are just need to stop giving in to impulses and show more self control without letting their emotions rule their lives.. if anyone from the media, a government agency or some other public body heard a comment like that, they'd have a hard time exercising self control over the rubbish this elder spouted, which my friends and family with genuine depression found insulting..

Thanks LHG, you are so right ! One of me former JW acquaintances ( I would say friend buy since I'm no longer JW I'll let you figure it out ) lost his first born son on account of this very thing. The little kid was an off the wall hyperactive, as mental health issues are rampant in that family. Anyhow at 19 years old the kid took a long walk on an unlit portion of the Laurentian highway north of St-Jérome Qc. and got hit twice for good measure. D.O.A. All this on account of the constant guilt tripping of not being good enough and not getting needed attention at home. Typical divorced and re-constituited JW happiest people on earth parenting situation. Most irresponsible adults I've ever had the displeasure of meeting.
I used to get grief for working at my business, once even got called out in front of the Saturday morning book study group for passing up in field serve us to go back in Saturday afternoon and get my papers in order. Told our incompetent conductor to his face in front of everyone that I like to pay my bills ! Twas the beginning on the end for this convert here..
PS : I have a saved off of FB picture of the above boy and younger sister when they were 6 and 8. Breaks my heart to look at it still. I would post it but don't need the backlash as I could be identified, and we all know how JW's love litigation $$

Thank you for your post Steve2, went through same here. Now we can laugh about it, but it certainly was serious business back then. Anyone that is the least bit honest, conscientious, perfectionist, neurotic and kind hearted will get raped alive around these selfish people. They'll use and abuse you till you're only a shell of your former self in the name of putting on the 'new personality' and this without any qualms nor care. All for the cult as you as a person are so not important.

Thing is in Québec there is lots of backlash against the catholic church, kept the people in ignorance fear and guilt for ages pretty much the same way JW operates today. It's understandable that the population here have a hatred towards religion. Unfourtunately this has resulted in turning many people away from God.
I for one am glad thethe WTBTS / JW.borg are by being exposed for what they truly are. Revenge is sweet in this case.

Watched it last night, waiting for some tid-bits from a friend that grew up in that hall. As for myself I almost dated an elder's daughter from same hall. Super nice girl, though a little too 'plump' to put it mildly when I got a good look at her in a swimsuit ! Cute face though, divorced with teenage daughter her former JW husband went gay.. Also went snowmobiling with some JW's from that area, great network of trails up there for those interested. Rentals ! haha !!!
The documentary was shocking but not in the least bit surprising given the hypocritical JW mindset.

Good stuff Keith thanks and Yes LongHairGal, Keith's 'new boy' series finally woke me up and snapped me out of the mind control when he first posted them years ago. It was shocking at first now I find it comical but can't help to fantasise revenge or sabotage in some way. Keith do you have any sabotage or revenge stories to tell that went on over there ?
